Learning to ride a motorcycle takes a great amount of skill and practice, and you’ll likely be learning new things throughout your riding career, no matter how familiar you’ve become with your bike. We answered a few of your questions in a previous post, and in today’s post, we’ll continue to answer some of the most common questions we’ve heard about motorcycle riding, culture, and other topics.

When you’ve finished reading this post, head over to the RC Components website to browse our massive selection of custom motorcycle wheelsexhaust pipes, and other custom motorcycle parts! We have everything you need to create the bike of your dreams, so take the first steps toward the bike you’ve always wanted today!

What’s the Best Way to Meet Other Riders?

If you’re looking for a way to meet other motorcycle enthusiasts, there’s almost no better way than to join a local riding group! You’ll meet other like-minded riders who can share their knowledge with you, and you may even find a group with whom you can ride to Sturgis. If you don’t have time to join a local group, then make your bike stand out with a set of custom motorcycle wheels or a custom exhaust pipe! Our custom rims are nothing short of eye-catching, and we know that they’ll impress anyone who sees them.

How Do I Store My Bike Properly in the Winter?

Unless you have a bike built specifically for winter riding, you’ll want to store your bike throughout the coldest months of the year. However, storing your bike properly is not as simple as simply putting it into a dark corner in the garage. You’ll want to give your bike a thorough cleaning before putting it into storage, as allowing dirt, dust, bugs, and other deposits from the road remain on your paint is almost certain to damage your paint. You’ll also want to add a coat of wax to ensure that moisture and rust do not damage your bike. After you’ve cleaned and waxed your bike, you’ll need to purchase a motorcycle cover that will keep your bike free of dust through the winter. It’s an unpleasant thought, but mice and other rodents have been known to nest in and around exhaust pipes, so be sure that any of your bike’s open areas have been covered. These are the just most basic tips for winter bike storage, so keep an eye out for a future series in which we’ll take an in-depth look at this topic.

We hope that this post has answered two more of your questions about motorcycle culture and storage.
