Where Will You Take Your Bike?

Posted by RC Components on Sep 5th 2018

One of the best parts of having a motorcycle is being able to ride it all over the country. From the sunny beaches of California to the East Coast, the possibilities are endless when you hit the open road. In today’s post, we’ll take a look at three popular destinations for motorcycle enthusiasts. If you’re planning to attend one, or all three, then be sure to pick up a set of custom chrome motorcycle wheels before you hit the road! You’re sure to catch the eye of everyone nearby, so take this opportunity to create the bike you deserve!

Sturgis

An American tradition since 1938, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is perhaps the most notable biker destination in the United States. The rally is usually held during the first week of August and lasts for a whopping 10 days! While Sturgis attracts more than 700,000 motorcycle enthusiasts and generates more than $800 million in revenue, it wasn’t always the big event that we know today. In fact, Sturgis began as a small gathering of Indian Motorcycle enthusiasts who wanted to create an event in which they could race and perform stunts. The rally grew over the next few years and eventually began to include events like hill climbing and other performance tests.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has taken place almost every year since 1938, with several exceptions during wartime. In 1942, for instance, the rally did not take place due to nationwide restrictions on gas.

No matter where in the United States you reside, making your way to Sturgis for 10 days of music, motorcycles, and parties is bound to be an amazing time. You don’t want to show up without something impressive to show off, so be sure to pick up some custom chrome motorcycle wheels or a custom motorcycle exhaust from our catalog before you start your journey!

Daytona Bike Week

If going to South Dakota isn’t quite what you’re looking for in a destination vacation, then you might be interested to learn that Daytona Beach Bike Week takes place in sunny, beautiful Florida. The event takes place during the first week of March, and much like Sturgis, Daytona Bike Week has been an American tradition since the late 1930s. Sharing a major similarity to Sturgis, Daytona Bike Week was canceled from 1942 until 1947 due to gasoline rations during the war.

If you make your way down to Florida for Daytona Bike Week, you can expect entertainment around every corner. From motorcycle races to concerts and delicious street food, there’s something for everyone who attends! Even if you don’t plan on racing or participating in the events, you’ll love the unique bikes and custom motorcycle wheels everywhere you look.

Laconia Motorcycle Week

While Laconia Motorcycle Week isn’t as well-known as Sturgis or Daytona, it’s actually the oldest motorcycle rally in the United States. Taking place in beautiful New Hampshire every June, this rally attracts motorcycle enthusiasts from across the country for a full eight days of races, shows, music, and camaraderie. You can take in the beautiful bikes outfitted with custom motorcycle parts or ride up Mount Washington Auto Road to the highest peak in the Northeast United States.

We hope that this post will help you find the perfect event to attend in the coming months.
